Outdoor Skating

Dates: Sunday, January 26th – Saturday, February 1st

Time: 6:00am – 11:00pm

Location: Stuart Park, 1439 Water Street

The outdoor skating rink at Stuart Park is open for free, casual, drop-in use daily, except on Mondays, when it is closed from 6-8am for maintenance. No pre-bookings are required, this season.

Skate rentals will be available on-site, but make sure to bring your own protective gear for outdoor skating (such as helmets) and hand sanitizer and face coverings for added COVID-safety.

Skate Rental Hours:

11:00am – 8:00pm, daily (weather permitting)

Skate Rentals Cost:

  • Adults: $6.00
  • Children, 2 and under: $5.00
  • EZ bars: $2.00
  • Helmets: $2.00

PLEASE NOTE: equipment rentals are cash only and weather permitting. Make sure to check ice conditions, maintenance schedules and crowd levels using the live cam on the City of Kelowna website before heading down to the rink.

TNT Food Truck will be on-site during peak hours offering food for purchase.

Family Play Time at the Kelowna Family Y

Date: Monday, January 27th – Friday, January 31st

Time: 9:00am – 10:30am or 11:00am – 12:30pm

Location: Kelowna Family Y, 375 Hartman Road, Kelowna

Family Play Time is a registered program for parents and caregivers with children ages 0-6 years old. You do NOT need to be a Y member to attend – it is free to anyone in the community! It runs Monday–Friday at the Kelowna Family Y. There are two time slots to choose from: 9:00-10:30am or 11:00-12:30pm

Please use the following instructions to register online.

  1. On mobile: download the YMCA of Southern Interior BC App from the App Store or Google Play
    On computer: go to the YMCA of Southern Interior BC class booking system
  2. Create an account
  3. Select ‘Free Classes’ from menu
  4. Select the Family Play Time program time that works for you.
  5. Select ‘book class’

Dinosaur Roar

Date: Monday, January 27th

Location: Okanagan Heritage Museum, 470 Queensway, Kelowna, BC V1Y 6S7

Back by popular demand! Dinosaurs were HOW BIG? Using real paleontology equipment and fossil exploration, we will imagine a land filled with dinosaurs. How loud can you roar?

Tickets are a pay what you can structure. Limited space, pre-registration required.

Drawing and Colouring: Using crayons, markers, or pencils to draw, colour, or trace shapes and patterns helps improve hand-eye coordination and control.

Playdough and Clay: Manipulating playdough or clay by rolling, pinching, and shaping develops hand strength and dexterity.

Parents/caregivers with children are welcome to drop-in for a family play time in the HUB playroom. For more information call the HUB at 236-970-4567.
