Boys and Girls Club of the Okanagan Unplug and Play Passport Challenge

Complete the Boys and Girls Club of the Okanagan Unplug and Play Passport Challenge. Complete the activities and challenges on the passport to win a $10 coupon to use in the recreation programs. New participants will receive free membership when they sign up to participate in the passport challenge. Healthy Together @ Home

The Bridge Youth & Family Services has developed Healthy Together program; an innovative family education model for children (0-18y) and their families to support healthy lifestyles. The program involves a series of age-based group learning sessions that focus on healthy eating, physical activity, and community engagement and offers children and their caregivers easy to use tools to support healthy lifestyle choices. The program consists of regular group sessions touching on key themes including food, nutrition, physical activity, relationships, and community. Each session provides tools and opportunities for families by offering: Group learning activities, Cooking and eating, Fun physical activities

Take and Make Craft Bags

Okanagan Centre Heritage Walk

You can print off the Scavenger hunt from the Westbank First Nation Facebook page or pick up a copy from the Early Years Centre (1880 Quail Lane, Westbank). Nature Scavenger Hunt

Location: Rutland Lions Park – 175 Gray Rd, Kelowna

Seek and discover the natural objects near the playground at Rutland Lions Park. Once you find all the objects, you can take a picture of the Nature Scavenger hunt sheet posted on a story board at the park. Discovery Back Packs

Location: Environmental Education Centre for the Okanagan (EECO) at Mission Creek Regional Park – 2363A Springfield Rd, Kelowna

Stop by the Environmental Education Centre for the Okanagan (EECO), a Regional District of Central Okanagan facility, to pick up one of the Discovery Back Packs to enjoy while visiting the park. The Discovery Back Packs allow you and your family to explore the park while focusing on certain themed topics. You’ll be armed with all that you need to help you uncover the parks secrets. There are a variety of back packs: Pond Study, Rock on with Geology, Go Birding, an Eco Walk, and Something’s Fishy.

A $5 donation is asked for taking out one of the kits.


Intention Stick Kit

Stop by the Environmental Education Centre for the Okanagan (EECO), a Regional District of Central Okanagan facility, to pick up an Intention Stick Kit. What is the purpose of an Intention Stick? It is a way of looking forward and also grounding yourself in the moment. It is taking the time to ask yourself what your intentions are as we move forward into the spring and summer. The making of this decorative stick is also a craft project. The finished decorative stick is made of primarily nature based items. It is able to be displayed and is a great visual reminder of your key intentions.

Laurel Square Scavenger Hunt

Kelowna Museums Society is hosting the Laurel Square Scavenger Hunt: Search for Indigenous plants, pollinators, and historical clues about the Laurel in the newly renovated Laurel Square. A free, outdoor activity for kids big and small. Pick up your scavenger hunt in the square.


Scientific Terms Scavenger Hunt

Let’s Talk Science Outreach at UBC Okanagan created a scavenger hunt to learn some commonly used scientific terms and to apply them to the real world objects that surround you. Scavenger hunt attempts along with photos of the scientific term examples you found (minimum 3 photos) can be emailed to letstalkscience.okanagan@ubc.ca for a chance to win a National Geographic STEM kit prize! The prize will be mailed to the child’s school address.


STEM Bingo

Let’s Talk Science Outreach at UBC Okanagan created the BINGO sheet to get children performing some hands-on minds-on STEM. All of the activities are simply DIY science experiments. If you are stuck on an activity, consult a reference book or the internet for guidance. Do your best to complete as many rows and columns on the BINGO sheet as possible. STEM BINGO attempts along with photos of the experiments performed (minimum 3 photos) can be emailed to letstalkscience.okanagan@ubc.ca for a chance to win a National Geographic STEM kit prize!
